Accessible Family Toilet

Svayam initiated an initiative to spread awareness regarding Accessible Family Toilets in rural areas. The campaign was carried out in 138 districts of 14 states. Svayam unveiled key findings from the ground-breaking Accessible Family Toilet Project, and with the help of microfinance institutions, the project turned out to be a loan product worth Rs 3.3 Crore. The project was highlighted by various media houses and reached millions of people, and today, Svayam stands as the first organisation to raise awareness about Accessible Family Toilets in rural areas.

Covid-19 Vaccination Drive

Svayam provided accessible transportation to people with reduced mobility during a pandemic by ensuring accessible and barrier-free immunisation drives. Svayam covered 9 out of 11 of India’s government vaccination centres to provide access to transportation in those hard times to people with reduced mobility. The drive touched the lives of 15,000+ families, helping family members with reduced mobility to reach vaccination centres in a dignified manner.

Khelo India Para Games

Svayam extended its support to para-athletes at the first-ever Khelo India Para Games 2023 by ensuring accessible transportation for 1400+ para-players and sensitizing over 300+ volunteers and officials to provide a seamless experience for para-athletes. Additionally, Svayam audited the three big stadiums, i.e., Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, IG Stadium, and Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, where the matches were held, to ensure proper accessibility during the games.

Disability Cricket Council of India (DCCI)

Svayam has been a proud supporter of para-sports. Svayam joined hands with the Disability Cricket Council of India (DCCI) to promote para sports that happened at Udaipur with its 3rd National Physical Disability T20 Cricket Championship. Svayam proudly supported para-players by providing customised merchandise and token of appreciation for their exceptional performance. This year-long association with DCCI is dedicated to fostering inclusivity and dignifying the lives of individuals with reduced mobility.

Paralympic Committee of India

The Paralympic Committee of India appointed Svayam as the “Accessibility Partner” for the purpose of providing accessible transportation for para-players, conducting access audits of the identified buildings by PCI, sharing its observations identifying barriers to accessibility, and conducting a training and sensitization programme as per IPC Accessible Guidelines. Under this association, Svayam has supported PCI during the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics and Regional Sports Training held in Bengaluru.

TRANSED – Taiwan

Svayam, Founder – Chairperson, Ms. Sminu Jindal gave away the ‘Svayam Accessibility Awards 2018 (Taiwan Edition)’ at Taipei on the sidelines of 15th International Conference on Mobility and Transportation for the Elderly and Disabled People (TRANSED2018), on 14th November 2018 to leading government and non-government agencies of Taiwan for their wonderful initiatives to promote Accessibility For All and inclusion.
